2026 MLB World Series Futures Odds Preview: Dodgers Lead Early

With the 2026 MLB season set to start on Thursday, March 26th (the San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees will play on March 25th, but the official start is set for the day after) meaning we’re 55 days away, here at Betanything.eu we thought, what better time to get the conversation rolling on this season’s potential World Series winners than right now?

Coming as an absolute shock to nobody, the Los Angeles Dodgers, yes, the two-time, reigning, defending World Series champions, enter as early MLB odds to repeat as champs, thus potentially achieving a feat only two teams have done before in league history, the New York Yankees and the Athletics, winning three WS titles in a row.

MLB World Series Futures Odds Analysis: Prepare For The Dodgers vs The World

Look, I get that betting on a Dodgers three-peat might look like the definition of a surefire bet, especially with LA’s MLB World Series odds currently sitting at +215.

But come on people.

How about we open the room up and give other teams a chance before we start chilling champagne and start blasting Ice Cube’s “It Was A Good Day” once again?

Alright, cool, let’s get to it.

Coming Back To The Dodgers For A Second

Yes, as I just said, LA’s current odds to threepeat stand at +215.

For somebody who doesn’t understand MLB betting odds fluently, this is the equivalent of buying a lottery ticket with close to 100% chances of winning.

And it’s very understandable.

They have the best and most lethal dual pitching/hitting threat in pro ball right now, Shohei Ohtani, spearheading an offense with the likes of Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, Teoscar Hernandez, Will Smith, and Andy Pages following along.

Channeling my inner Ron Popeil voice for a second: “but wait, there’s more”.

If that wasn’t enough, adding to an already stacked roster LA shocked the league with the signing of former Chicago Cubs right fielder, and one of the hottest free agents this offseason, Kyle Tucker, to a four-year $240 million deal.

And on top of all that, not satisfied with having one of the best pitching rotations in baseball, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Ohtani, Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow, Roki Sasaki, and Emmett Sheehan amongst other names, they’ve added former New York Mets all-star closer (and owner of one of the coolest entrance songs in MLB) Edwin Diaz to make sure nobody gets one by them.

So, yes, call the Dodgers unfair, utterly dominant, a juggernaut team, it won’t matter a bit, it’s just the LA way of life in MLB.

World Series Odds Favorites: AL & NL East Please Stand Up

Ok, let’s talk about World Series lines contenders who can try and give LA a run for the title.

Kicking off a list highlighted mostly by American and National League East divisional teams, with the Seattle Mariners breaking away from the bunch, there’s the New York Yankees (+1000).

After re-signing former MVP Cody Bellinger to a new, five-year $162.5 million contract to keep him in the Bronx, and with Gerrit Cole returning at full form this season to lead the team’s rotation, which will benefit greatly from the addition of Ryan Weathers, as long as the Yankees can find a level of consistency they can work with through the season, I can for sure see them being contenders.

Next up, with similar +1200 odds, are the current AL champions Toronto Blue Jays and Atlanta Braves.

If you weren’t a fan of Toronto’s World Series run last season, you might have one of the coldest hearts in the land.

While seeing fan favorite Bo Bichette leave, the additions of starting pitcher Dylan Cease and third baseman Kazuma Okamoto could help Toronto try and run it all back this season.

As far as the Braves go, the building blocks have been there for quite a while to get a title-contending squad rolling. If Atlanta can stay healthy, fear the Braves.

At +1400 odds, if Cal Raleigh and the Seattle Mariners want to post a bigger threat, after re-signing Josh Naylor, the team should look into spending a bit more money.

Also at +1400, the New York Mets.

If there was ever a year to bet on the Mets, this finally feels like it’s it.

Besides landing Bichette from the Blue Jays, bringing in Marcus Semien, Freddy Peralta, Jorge Polanco, Luis Robert Jr., and Devin Williams put the Mets in a league of their own, that is, if they don’t do the usual Mets thing and screw themselves over.

For now, let’s trust the Mets.

Lastly, at +1600, there’s the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies.

Based on offseason moves alone, Boston gets my props following the signing of Ranger Suarez and Sonny Gray, as well as bringing in first baseman Wilson Contreras.

And Philly? With offense continuing to be their focus, bringing back Kyle Schwarber and JT Realmuto, and signing outfielder Adolis Garcia, look for the Phillies to be the team no defense will want to face.

World Series Odds Sleepers: Hey Cubs, Padres and Orioles, We’re Looking At You

In the world of writing for online betting purposes, you’re supposed to be unbiassed and fair with everyone.

But not me. While I can be completely fair and down the middle, I’ve never been one to hide my love for the Chicago Cubs.

Yes, losing Tucker to the Dodgers hurt. But after signing Alex Bregman and Edward Cabrera to join the likes of Cade Horton, Justin Steele, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Shota Imanaga, Seiya Suzuki and company, if Chicago can find a way to make its bullpen an actual threat, I’d buy into the Cubbies at +2000 right now.

Coming in second for my sleepers, can we talk about the Baltimore Orioles for a second.

If there’s an award for best off-season signings, send it over to Camden Yards right away.

With a core of young players, who, when healthy can be one of the best lineups in the league, and the addition of Pete Alonso, Taylor Ward, Shane Baz, Zach Eflin, and Ryan Helsley, do yourself a favor and look into Baltimore’s +2500 odds right now.

Finally, the San Diego Padres are starting to look more and more like the MLB version of the Buffalo Bills.

They have a great roster, immense title-contending potential and a fanbase hungry for success, yet they still always end up falling short.

Unless the Padres are doing something very quietly to buff up their lineup and rotation (after re-signing Michael King), at +2800 odds, this feels more like a trap than a sleeper bet.

World Series Odds Darkhorses: Can Milwaukee Brew Up A Title Run?

While there are some intriguing teams that could offer great MLB futures betting value, like the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Guardians (+5000), the San Francisco Giants (+6600), and the Texas Rangers (+4000), I’m going with two teams who, as long as they are kept intact and manage to build upon recent success, could end up causing some serious shockwaves.

First, the Milwaukee Brewers at +3300 odds. Last season’s run was no fluke, becoming the toughest team to play at home.

With a very solid core of players, even after seeing Freddy Peralta leave, I can see the Brewers being a sneaky fun team to watch again, especially with that rotation led by Quinn Priester and Jacob Misiorowski.

For my second pick, at similar +3300 odds, if they can keep and build around starting pitcher Tarik Skubal, I’ll bank the Detroit Tigers to make an interesting run in the American League.

Unless Skubal leaves, then I’m out.

World Series Odds Longshots: Thanks, But We’ll Pass

I don’t really think there’s much of a case to be made for teams holding odds over +15000.

So, Chicago White Sox (+50000), Colorado Rockies (+50000), Los Angeles Angels (+25000), Miami Marlins (+15000), and Washington Nationals (+50000), you knew this was bound to happen, so don’t even act surprised.

Maybe 2027 will be your year, or maybe not. But 2026 will definitely NOT be it.
