by Ben Oddswell | March 20, 2026It’s been a month if it’s been a day, especially in the NHL, where some of the league’s top teams had to endure some not expected results here and there.
Thankfully, it’s Friday, which can only mean one thing, it’s time to talk about the best games for this Friday and the rest of the weekend, of course with the top NHL odds today to go along with them.
So, pick up your gear and get ready, because we’re going skating to land the top games and best NHL bets to keep an eye on this weekend.
Three games featuring teams playing on consecutive nights headline today’s slate of games, so without further ado, pay attention as we break down our top NHL betting picks for these matchups.
So, if you want to bet on a team with enough bounce-back potential tonight, take Colorado covering the puck line (-1.5) at -125 odds.
But even with emotions running high following last night’s upset, I can’t see them repeating tonight in Calgary against the Flames, a team with a respectable 17-12-4 record at home.
Avoid the puck line here as it feels like a trap, instead take the Flames beating the Panthers straight up at -110 odds.
With Anaheim heading into this road game with the Oilers and Las Vegas Knights one and two points away in the divisional standings, losing is not an option here whatsoever.
So, with that said, and because who doesn’t love an upset, take the Ducks winning on the road in Utah at +110 odds.
Just like last weekend, we’re getting a generous 20-game slate over Saturday and Sunday for all NHL betting odds fans to get in on the action and who knows, make a few bucks and what not.
But which games feel like a worthy chance to lay a couple of bucks and expect a hefty return chasing a winner or betting on NHL props?
Buffalo Sabres vs Los Angeles Kings: With Buffalo holding a four-point lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning atop the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference, scoring a statement road win in LA against a Kings team that’s coming off a 4-3 loss, thus pushing Buffalo to collect their fourth win in a row offers some very interesting betting upside to consider.
Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild: A fight in Minnesota between the second and third place teams in the Central Division? Sign us up right away!
Boston Bruins vs Detroit Penguins: As both teams continue in a neck-to-neck battle with the Montreal Canadiens to snag the third-place position in the Atlantic Division, a win here for either, combined with the Canadiens losing on the road against the New York Islanders could heat up the race for third.
Tampa Bay Lightning vs Edmonton Oilers: If your game is NHL player prop betting, look no further than Tampa Bay’s visit to Edmonton, as one of the best offenses in the league, the Lightning’s take on an Oilers team with too much firepower to stand up and call game, even if it’s been riding the slump bus lately.
Carolina Hurricanes vs Pittsburgh Penguins: Moving on to Sunday, an early afternoon matchup between the 1st and 2nd place teams in the Metropolitan division, the Hurricanes and Penguins should offer NHL betting fans a good enough reason to get to betting early.
Columbus Blue Jackets vs New York Islanders: Staying in the Metro division, since we’re highlighting the 1 vs 2 game, we might as well throw in the 3 vs 4 one as well as the Blue Jackets head to New York to duke it out with the Islanders. A combination of a win for any team here and Boston losing could mean either of the two moving into second place of the division.
Anaheim Ducks vs Buffalo Sabres: If the Sabres don’t manage to cover the spread in this game, considering they have the much better offense, I might just have to riot a bit. So, let’s hope Buffalo does good on their part and cover.
